Katarina Detkova

Visiting PhD Student

I'm originally from Valladolid (Spain). I completed my BSc in Chemistry at University of Valladolid in 2020, and the following year I did a MSc in the same university. I developed my Master thesis in the group of Prof. Asunción Barbero, where I worked in the synthesis of tetrahydropyrans by silyl-Prins cyclization. I had the opportunity to continue the investigation in the same group and I am doing my PhD focusing the research in the stereoselective synthesis of heterocycles that can be potentially bioactive. I am currently doing a 4-month predoctoral stay in the Dixon Group. Outside of lab, I like reading, traveling and playing the piano.
