Sam Ellis

2nd Year SBM CDT DPhil Student

I’m from Portsmouth and studied my undergraduate here in Oxford, working with Jeremy Robertson on natural product synthesis (of guanacastepene- and cortistatin-type skeletons) during my Part II year. I joined the new Synthesis for Biology and Medicine CDT and joined the Dixon group to work on total synthesis. My research focus is on the application of exciting, novel synthetic methodologies to the total synthesis of complex natural products. Outside of the lab I spend a lot of time cooking, and enjoy running and football.
