Anna Passmore

1st Year DPhil Student

I grew up in Birmingham but moved to Manchester to complete my undergraduate degree in MChem Chemistry with Industrial Experience, during which I completed a placement in the synthetic research group of the hyperdispersants branch of Lubrizol, developing polymers as additives for paints and inks. In my final year, I worked under the supervision of Dr Giacomo Crisenza on the design of activator molecules for the photocatalytic functionalisation of C-heteroatom bonds. After graduation and a year of travel, I have joined the Dixon group to work on iridium catalysed reductive functionalisation procedures. In my free time, I love to travel when possible and also enjoy making my own clothes and watching horror films with friends.
