Yu-Ting Chen (Troy)

1st Year DPhil Student
Originally from Taipei and Kaohsiung, Taiwan, I began my research journey in transition metal-mediated asymmetric C–H activation as an UG researcher at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University under the guidance of Prof. Wing-Yiu Yu. I later worked as a research assistant with Prof. Tiow-Gan Ong at the Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica. I completed my Master’s degree in Catalysis (Chemistry and Engineering) at Imperial College London in 2024, where I developed a sub-mol% copper catalysis system under the supervision of Prof. Chris Braddock and Dr. Rob Davies. I subsequently joined the Dixon group, where my research focuses on developing new methodologies to explore the synthetic utility of carbene precursors derived from lactams and amides. Outside of chemistry, I am a pianist, painter, and a sociable person who enjoys spending time with friends.
